2010
Passion is something that drives or propels us into an activity or thought that becomes all-consuming or powerfully addictive. The muse is like that, whether it lures me into my writings (see website Poetrycafe.ca) or compels me to seek out the canvas.
When I remarried in 2010, my husband and I took a holiday to Peurto Vallarta, Mexico and I was entranced by the culture and the inspiration that surrounded me and it was all I could do to keep the stain of colors off my fingertips when we arrived back home again. The muse was dancing at my heels and I couldn’t wait to pour all that adventure onto the page.
Although the paintings are not specifically of Mexico itself, they are an ambiance of color and vision drawn from the landscape and vibrancy of the people, their dress and personality.
Thus began the series titled “Finding My Way to San Sabastian.”
San Sabastian is a delightful and historic town we visited on our journey.
All the paintings are done on acid-free illustration board and mounted on a black back board or encased in black frame, hung with wire.
They vary in size from 8 X10 to 16 X 20 and are available for sale.
